Coco Martin Reveals Why Ivana Alawi Was Fired From ‘Batang Quiapo’ – Commitment and Work Ethic Issues, She Explains

The manager of Kapamilya star and content creator Ivana Alawi has addressed the rumors circulating on social media that she would be removed from the action-drama series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” due to her “attitude” and alleged behavior of ignoring her co-workers while on set.

A screenshot began circulating, reportedly from Ivana’s personal assistant, confirming that her last taping day on the series had already occurred. The rumors cited issues with Ivana being uncooperative regarding extending her taping schedule and that she only communicated with director Coco Martin, ignoring others on set.

This was further discussed in an episode of “Cristy Ferminute,” where the rumors about Ivana’s “Ate Chona” attitude were tackled.

Coco Martin himself, in an appearance on DJ Jhai Ho’s “Showbiz Sidelines” on Teleradyo Serbisyo, clarified the situation. He revealed that he personally spoke with Ivana’s talent manager, Perry Lansigan, to address these issues.

Lansigan clarified that Ivana had originally agreed to stay for only three months on the show. This was during the time Lovi Poe left after her wedding. However, due to the popularity of the tandem between Tanggol and Bubbles, Ivana’s stay was extended multiple times. Eventually, her schedule could no longer accommodate the show’s taping as she had prior commitments, including shoots and vlogs.

“From the very start when Ivana was inquired for ‘Batang Quiapo,’ it was agreed that she would stay for only three months. She agreed to this. This was during the time Lovi Poe was getting married. But because the pairing of Tanggol and Bubbles became so popular, her stint was extended, extended, and extended some more. Eventually, Ivana’s schedule could no longer handle it due to prior commitments,” said DJ Jhai Ho, quoting Lansigan.

Lansigan also emphasized that there was still taping left for Ivana until Friday, July 12, and denied that Ivana had any attitude issues as claimed by the rumors.
