Kim Chiu Doesn’t Believe That LDR Should Be A Reason For Breakup

There’s no way around it: breakups suck. Everyone experiences some kind of heartbreak at some point in life, even celebrities. Case in point: Kim Chiu, who called it quits with her longtime beau Xian Lim this year.

With her experience in relationships, Kim is one to have learned a thing or two about navigating challenges. This prompted her to share her thoughts about long-distance relationships and why being in one isn’t an acceptable reason for her to part ways with a significant other.

The actress-host explained her reasoning in an episode of EXpecially For You on Its Showtime, where one guy said that the reason he broke up with his ex-girlfriend was long distance. “Hindi ba ‘pag mahal mo ang isang tao, kapag gusto, maraming paraan, kapag ayaw mo maraming dahilan,” Kim said.

For the actress, distance isn’t a hindrance if you *really* love someone. “Para saan ba ‘yung four hours kung gusto mong pahabain ang pagsasama niyo,” she added.

“So ibig sabihin, nawalan ka na ng gana sa relasyon niyo,” she concluded.

Despite having strong thoughts on reasons for breakups, Kim isn’t really one to be bitter around an ex. In fact, she recently revealed that she’s open to working with Xian. “Okay lang naman mag-guest siya sa Showtime, or mag-prod siya,” she said, adding that things are civil between them two.
