Paulo and Kim are consistently on the trending page for their starring roles in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim—the Philippine adaptation of the popular South Korean hit. Paulo isn’t surprised that fans are clamoring for him and Kim to be a couple *IRL*.
“I get where they’re coming from, like, when you see people on screen that you want to work, I would ship them as well but, hinay hinay lang,” he said in a recent interview with The Philippine Star.
He also noted how fans should give Kim some time after her breakup. “Kim just came from, hindi naman sa nangingialam, but Kim just came from a relationship so hayaan muna natin mag-enjoy yung mga tao and give them time to explore a bit more.”
Kim quickly agreed to Paulo sentiments in the same interview, “Tama naman, i-enjoy na muna natin yung ngayon, ito.”
Don’t Call Kim And Paulo A Love Team
Despite their palpable chemistry, Paulo and Kim don’t want to be called a “love team” as Kim finds the term “very pre-pandemic.”
“Siguro parang nalipasan na siya na salita. Because we are the right age to decide on what we want to do, on what path we want to take in showbiz,” said Kim.
Kim also takes away an important lesson from What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. “…Love takes time. You don’t look for it, you also don’t ask for it, if it comes, it comes. Hindi mo siya hahanapin. Darating lang talaga siya sa tamang panahon.”
In December 2023, Kim confirmed the end of her relationship with Xian Lim. “Lastly, to Xi, Thank you for the almost 12 years of beautiful memories together one can never imagine.
You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for showing me what love is,” wrote Kim in her Instagram post to address their breakup.
